Pugwash Holds Ceasefire Conference Today in Kabul

Kabul hosts a peace conference about peace process with armed anti-government groups today by Canada-based organisation, Pugwash. According to reports, Anwarulhaq Ahadi, Mohammad Ismael Khan, Mohammad Omar Dawoodzai, Mohammad Yonus Qanoni and some other politicians attended the conference. Khalilullah Safi head of the Afghanistan branch of Pugwash, told media that they will propose a 19-article draft plan for peace in the country. He added that ceasefire, abandonment of some areas to Taleban, gradual expulsion of foreign troops from Afghanistan, amendment of the constitution, fair participation of all public in political trends, prisoner exchange, and removal of Taleban leaders’ name from UN black list are included in the draft. Pugwash organizes conferences and seminars to seek solution to conflicts in various parts of the world.  Pugwash has arranged gatherings and seminars on the Afghanistan conflict in Qatar, France and the United Arab Emirates.
