Agha Khan Foundation has promised to increase their humanitarian and developmental assistance in Badakhshan. Norjahan Mawani Ambassador and political envoy of Agha khan in Afghanistan said that they will extend their programs in Afghanistan. Mrs. Mawani in her trip to Badakhshan has promised that Agha Khan Development Foundation will increase their cooperation especially in electricity, education, and health sectors. She also highlighted that they will draw regional and international assistance for Badakhshan province. Meanwhile Ahmad Faisal Bigzad Badakhshan governor has called the assistance and developmental project beneficial, especially in border districts. Badakhshan governor also requested Agha Khan’s envoy to extend their programs throughout the districts so that residents have access to a better life. Agha Khan Foundation operates in Afghanistan since 2002 and they provide services in health, education, water supply, and reconstruction of cultural heritage. This institution has cooperated 15 million dollars to Afghanistan in the past 15 years.
