UNICEF’s Concerns About the Ban on Community-Based Classes for Afghan Children

Recently, reports have been published that the education of Afghan children in local schools in Afghanistan has been banned.

According to the Reuters news agency, The spokesperson of the UNICEF office in Afghanistan has reported that following this decision, more than 500 thousand Afghan children, including 300 thousand children, may be deprived of quality education in local schools.

He says that international institutions are talking with the authorities of the Islamic Emirate about this matter.

However, the Islamic Emirate has not officially said anything about this.

It should be mentioned that since August 2021, girls above the sixth grade in Afghanistan have not been allowed to go to school.
