United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) announces the increase of its educational classes for girls throughout Afghanistan, while doors of schools are closed to girls above the sixth grade.

This organization has recently written on its Twitter that the number of educational institutions in Afghanistan will increase to 21,000.

According to this organization, 466 classes are currently active in Bamyan and 9,499 children are being educated there.

Mohammad Hashim Qeyam said: “Education is one of the basic needs of society, especially in the current situation where girls above the sixth grade are not allowed to go to school.”

He hopes that this work of UNICEF at least will keep alive the motivations of girls to continue their education.

Mustafa Mortazavi, one of the professors at Kabul University, has a similar view.

He said: “At such a time when girls are so needy of education, UNICEF’s work is certainly valuable. We ask the international community to continue their efforts regarding education and raising the literacy level of Afghans.

It should be noted that this action of UNICEF has been welcomed by the general public.

Abdul Basir Mukhtarh said from Nimroz Province: “The people of Afghanistan are hungry for knowledge, such educational facilities should be provided more in our country.

UNICEF announces the creation of 20,000 classrooms, but after passing two years, so far there is no news from the government regarding the fate and continuation of girls’ education above the sixth grade.

This problem has made students worried about their future and they are counting the minutes for the opening of schools.
