The Shangri-La meeting under the name of resolving regional tensions was recently held in Singapore.

The Shangri-La meeting is held annually between world leaders for defence talks.

In this meeting, the defence ministers of different countries of the world discussed the spread of security concerns in the world.

This meeting, which mostly focused on North Korea’s missile and nuclear tests, accused North Korea is making threatening and tension-causing activities in Asia.

Meanwhile, the Korean Defense Minister has criticized North Korea’s policy and said that some countries ignore North Korea’s unlawful behaviour and undermine the United Nations resolutions regarding North Korea’s increasing missile and nuclear threats.

South Korea’s Defense Minister Lee Jong-sop insists that North Korea’s unlawful behaviour must be stopped.

“Disregarding or defending North Korea’s nuclear and missile development goes against the international order that we have maintained to date. We also must blockade North Korea’s unlawful activities by faithfully implementing the existing UN Security Council resolution agreed upon by the international community.”

North Korea has recently launched tests such as launching a spy satellite, including last Wednesday, the country launched its first spy satellite into space, which failed by falling into the sea. But Pyongyang has announced that it will launch another satellite soon.

However, Russia and China accuse the US of increasing tension in the Korean Peninsula.

Geng Shuang, a representative of China at the United Nations, although the security concerns of the countries regarding North Korea’s nuclear tests are understandable, he says that the Security Council should promote de-escalation instead of blaming one side.

“Some countries have repeatedly indicated that the security must not remain indifferent to the state quo of the peninsula, but should play a constructive role. China shares the view, How can the Security Council play a constructive role? Is it constructive to point the finger at one party and put all the blame on the party? Obviously not.”

Meanwhile, North Korea’s defence minister accuses America and Japan of trying to deter North Korea.

According to reports, the US, Japan and South Korea have agreed on starting a program this year to share intelligence warnings of North Korean missile operations.
