Speaking to reporters, Qomi said the stability of the region is contingent on stability of Afghanistan and there needs to be a permanent security.

Iranian President’s special representative added that efforts are ongoing to help Afghanistan achieve its main role and stability.

Qomi said he aimed to discuss economic ties, recent developments in the country and engagement of Afghanistan with the region.

In response to reporters who asked about recognizing the new government in Afghanistan, Qomi said Iran agrees with any decision made by the people of Afghanistan.

Afghanistan’s new rulers has yet to win international recognition.

The international community has conditioned its response to Afghanistan crisis and recognition of the new government on the behavior of its new rulers and until the rulers provide assurances that they will uphold human rights.
