KABUL (The Killid Group) – An explosion jolted a heavily fortified Shah Darak area of Afghan capital Kabul Thursday morning, days after a truck bomb targeted Green Village compound in the East.
Nusrat Rahimi, a spokesman for the Ministry of Interior Affairs, confirmed the explosion, but did not provide further details.
Eyewitnesses said at least 37 injured during the blast are taken to hospitals.
Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, saying the group targeted a foreign forces convoy that was entering National Defense Security (NDS) facility in the area.
The Shash Darak area in Kabul’s PD9 is heavily fortified, which in a sense is considered a house for foreign embassies, including the United States.

CORRECTION: The explosion targeted National Directorate of Security (NDS); not National Defense Security as mentioned on the report.
