In a statement released Friday, the Ministry of Defense said as many as 149 Taliban militants had been killed in seven provinces—Ghazni, Nangarhar, Paktia, Balkh, Herat, Ghor, Helmand and Kandahar provinces.
At least 70 other militants had been wounded in clashes with government forces, said the statement.
A number of weapons had also been demolished, according to the statement, and 30 bombs of any kind found and defused by Afghan forces.
The Taliban have yet to comment.
