In a message on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, Karzai asked the people of Afghanistan, especially the Islamic Emirate, to work for peace in the country through national understanding and dialogue.

Inter-Afghan negotiations were supposed to begin after the signing of the peace agreement between the United States and the Islamic Emirate in 2020, but these negotiations did not begin due to various reasons.

After coming to power, the Islamic Emirate declared a caretaker government, but so far no country has recognized this government.
