UNAMA has announced that Roza Otenbayeva visited the Department of Technical and Vocational Education in order to receive information about girls’ access to educational opportunities.
In the announcement of this institution, it is stated that Otenbayeva called vocational training important for the economic development of Afghanistan and emphasized that Afghan women and girls should be included in vocational training.
This is despite the fact that after the establishment of the Islamic Emirate in Afghanistan, girls above the sixth grade were stopped from going to school, and recently the education of girls in universities has also been suspended.
However, the officials of the Islamic Emirate say that the work on the plan to reopen schools and universities for girls is going on.
