Richard Bennett, United Nations Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Afghanistan, posted on Twitter that Matiullah Wisa, an education specialist and a civil activist, was arrested by the security forces.
At the same time, the Office of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) says that it is following up on reports of the arrest of female activists during the recent demonstrations in Kabul.
On the Facebook page of UNAMA, it is written that women and girls have the right to protest against policies that limit their human rights.
It should be noted that on Sunday this week, a number of women marched in protest against the suspension of education and training for girls above the sixth grade and the prohibition of women working in non-governmental organizations.
Although there have been reports of the arrest of a number of protesters, the authorities of the Islamic Emirate have not yet said anything about it.
