A key Taliban commander killed in drone strike Sunday night in Shindand district, local officials in western Herat province said.
Sayed Ahmad Muhammadi, acting media officer of Herat security command told Killid that foreign forces’ drone strike targeted Taliban hideouts in Zerkoh district of Herat province.
Muhammadi noted the killed Taliban commander named Baryalai also known as Mullah Mansour and one of the top commanders related to Mullah Samad and deputy of shadow governor for Herat.
Mullah Samad is a key member of Taliban who is leading the group in most parts of the Herat province.
The Taliban group has not commented regarding the issue so far.
