The New Agreement Between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency

Rafael Grossi, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, and Mohammad Islami, the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, have said in a joint statement that a decision will be made on how to monitor Iran’s nuclear programs during a meeting in Tehran.

In 2015, Iran signed an agreement with six member countries of the United Nations Security Council, as a result of which, Iran’s uranium enrichment was limited to less than four percent.

However, in 2018, the US withdrew from this agreement and increased sanctions on Iran.

However, in recent years, negotiations between the US and Iran to revive this agreement have not reached a conclusion.
