DOHA, Qatar (The Killid Group) – The United States Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad – who is negotiating with the Taliban delegation on peace in country – denies rumors that say both parties have discussed interim government as a political settlement.
Khalilzad certifying an earlier statement by the Taliban said they have not tackle interim government during the ninth round of talks, which is ongoing in Doha, Qatar since Thursday, August 22, 2019.
“As the Taliban spokesperson stated earlier, we have had no discussions about an interim government,” he said in a tweet Saturday. “Governance decisions are for Afghans to make in intra-Afghan negotiations.”

As ninth round of talks between the United States and the Taliban negotiators entered third day Saturday, sources familiar to the talks confirmed both parties have made progress on a full withdrawal of foreign troops within 15-24 months.
Progress includes the Taliban assurance of not using Afghanistan as their springboard for attacks against any other nations – with a deadline of 24 months the most for US to pull back its forces.
