Local officials in Ghazni said that if reinforcements were not sent to Ajristan district, it would collapse to the Taliban.
Aref Noori, provincial governor’s spokesman, told Killid that heavy clashes have been ongoing in Ajristan district over the past three days.
He added 18 Afghan security force members have been killed and 13 injured.
He further stated that tens of civilians were also either killed or injured.
“Taliban insurgents have also sustained casualties, but the exact figure is yet to be known,” Noori added.
In the meantime, the Taliban claimed that they had taken control of the district.
The clashes started three days ago when dozens of armed Taliban attacked the district.
