Over 900 US Diplomats Protest Trump’s Order

A memo signed by 900 US State Department diplomats that oppose President Donald Trump’s temporary ban on refugees and citizens of seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the US has been delivered to top officials. The president’s order indefinitely bars Syrian refugees from coming to the United States and temporarily bans refugees and immigrants from six Muslim-majority nations: Iraq, Yemen, Somalia, Iran, Libya, and Sudan. CNN reported that the memo says Trump’s executive order “stands in opposition to the core American and constitutional values that we, as federal employees, took an oath to uphold.”  The move “will immediately sour relations” with countries whose governments are “important allies and partners in the fight against terrorism, regionally and globally.”
