Xi Hails Progress of US-China Ties During Meeting with Blinken in Beijing

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken during his recent trip to China, met with President Xi Jinping and emphasized de-escalation. Chinese President Xi Jinping has repeated his call for stable and healthy Sino-US relations.

At the same time, the US Secretary of State has said that the two sides did not make progress in establishing a regular military communication channel. But more senior officials from America are going to travel to China in the coming weeks.

Xi Hails Progress of US-China Ties During Meeting with Blinken in Beijing

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken met with Chinese President Xi Jinping after meeting with China’s Foreign Minister Chin Kang.

In this meeting, the President of China and the Secretary of State of the United States agreed to stabilize their rivalry so that it does not turn into a conflict.

They agreed to continue diplomatic relations and further visits by American officials to China in the coming weeks and months.

 

Blinken also called his meeting with Wang Yi, the senior diplomat of China, and Chin Kang, the foreign minister of that country, constructive and emphasized the importance of creating open communication channels to manage the competition between the two countries.

“The United States has a long history of successfully managing complicated consequential relationships through diplomacy. It is the responsibility of both countries to find a path forward and it is both our interest and the interests of the world that we do so.”

 

Meanwhile, Blinken emphasized the peaceful resolution of the differences between China and Taiwan and said that America is against any unilateral change between the two countries.

“We do not support Taiwan’s independence. We remain opposed to any unilateral change to the status quo by either side. We continue to expect the peaceful resolution of cross-Strait Differences.”

 

However, Chinese President Xi Jinping has welcomed the progress of his country’s relations with the United States and has called for the establishment of stable relations between China and the United States. He asked America not to harm Beijing’s legitimate rights and interests.

It’s mentionable that Joe Biden, President of the United States has called the Chinese President a dictator and added that the Chinese people have economic problems.
