Along with the tensions and cold bilateral relations between the two largest economies of the world (the United States and China), the Secretary of State of the United States has travelled to China and met with the officials of this country.
According to reports, Anthony Blinken discussed the differences between the two countries, including the issue of Taiwan and trade, with China’s Foreign Minister Chin Kang during his two-day visit.
Since the Joe Biden administration, Blinken, as the highest official of the American government has travelled to China in search of a solution to several crises between the two countries.
During this trip, Blinken emphasized on continuous dialogues to resolve tensions between the two sides and said that more efforts should be made to avoid misunderstandings.
“Both countries are responsible to manage the relationship to create open and powerful communication. Both sides should talk about the tensions, and misconceptions and prevent misunderstandings.”
Meanwhile, Chinese Foreign Minister Chin Kang said in this meeting that Taiwan and China’s interests in this island are the most important issues in the relations between the two countries.
Earlier, in a meeting with Nicholas Burns, the US ambassador in Beijing, he emphasized that the US should correct its approach to the issue of Taiwan and avoid violating the “one China principle”.
However, Ling Shengli, a Chinese researcher, says that America’s efforts to talk and improve relations with China may be able to resolve the tension between the two countries.
“Sincerity is key if the United States is to repair its relationship with China, which has been plagued by misguided strategic understanding and fragmented economic and trade relations.”
This is while relations between the two countries have been deteriorating for some time now, and Anthony Blinken’s trip to Beijing in February was postponed due to the flight of Chinese spy balloons over America, and tensions between the two sides intensified.
