The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar has published a statement saying that Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-thani, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of this country, spoke with the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken over the phone.

It is stated in the announcement that regional and world issues, especially the developments in Afghanistan, were discussed during the phone call.

Meanwhile, in a statement from the US State Department, it is stated that Anthony Blinken, appreciated Qatar’s continuous support in Afghanistan, in a conversation with Sheikh Mohammad.

It should be noted that Qatar hosted negotiations between the United States and the Islamic Emirate for more than a year, after a peace agreement, was signed between the two sides on February 29, 2020.

On the other hand, after the political changes in August 2021 and the withdrawal of all foreign forces from Afghanistan, the embassies of some countries in the world were transferred to Qatar and are operating in this country.
