A number of farmers in this district have described the damages as irreparable and want to be investigated by charity organizations and the government.
But the government officials say that humanitarian aid has been distributed to the affected people in the Chaharborjak district.

The recent floods have taken away the peace of mind and life’s comfort from a number of farmers. They say, in addition to the fact that the floods have killed a number of their family members, the floods have also destroyed a large number of their livestock and destroyed their agricultural lands and even their houses.

Hamidullah, one of the victims of the flood in Chaharborjak district, says: ‘We have suffered a lot from the floods. Unfortunately, two members of my family drowned in the flood. We have also lost our lands and all our assets were destroyed.’

He asks the government to pay serious attention to the farmers of this district and to allow the people to continue farming near the Kamal Khan dam.

Rabia is another victim of the floods, she says that all her possessions have been destroyed by the floods and she has no crops left.

“All our income is from working on the agricultural land and we should work all year in the heat and cold to be able to get good results, but unfortunately our lands have been destroyed many times by floods and all our efforts have been razed to the ground”.

She demands the attention of the government and charity organizations to help people in order to re-cultivate their agricultural lands.

At the same time, Abdul Ghafar Azizi, one of the civil society activists of Nimroz province, says that the recent floods have caused many casualties and financial losses in the country’s provinces, especially in Chaharborjak district of Nimroz province.

“Many people of Chaharborjak district have lost their houses and livestock, due to the floods. This is a great loss for the people of this district”.

He added that the government and aid agencies should have plans to help the victims.

However, government officials say that the humanitarian aid provided by the government and aid organizations to the affected people in the Chaharborjak district has been done properly.

Maulavi Mohammad Qasem Mohammad, the head of the Natural Disasters Management Department of Nimroz Province, says: “We have helped about 420 families, which are provided by organizations such as the Afghan Red Crescent, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Department of Natural Disasters Management in this province”.

He added that other assistance programs are on hand in the coming months to provide more assistance to flood victims.
Nimroz province is one of the warmest provinces in the southwest of the country, which is considered one of the regions with a dry climate.
For many years, this province has witnessed monsoon rains and dangerous floods, which have resulted in the loss of life and financial losses for the citizens.
