In Helmand, a national businessman named Haji Mohammad Esa Omari has built a private school where 700 orphans are educated from the first to the eighth grade.
Faisal Ahmad studies in this school, he told Radio Killid that he did not have access to education after his father’s death, but now he has joined the school and continues to study.
We asked about his residence, and his eyes filled with tears he said that he is currently living with his uncle and is facing many problems.
“When my father died, I missed school and education, but now I’m going back to school.”
We also talked to another eight-year-old child in the mentioned school and he also told me that his father died and now his uncle enrolled him in the mentioned school.
I am very happy that I am studying in this school now, I have not joined any school before.
Dozens of other orphans study in this school, whose fathers died in past wars.
The founder of this private school, national businessman Haji Mohammad Esa Omari, told Radio Killid that he provides books, stationery, and other expenses for all the students of this school at his own expense.
“We have taught 700 children here, 300 of them have dormitories.”I will pay all other expenses.”
The people of Lashkargah consider the construction of such schools to be beneficial for homeless children and they ask other businessmen to help homeless women and children.
Ehsanullah, one of the residents of Lashkargah, calls such efforts the reason for the progress of the society:
We also request other national businessmen to similarly help poor and orphaned women and children and provide them with educational facilities.
The officials of the Helmand Department of Education also welcome the establishment of such schools for homeless children.
Maulavi Mohammad Ismail Saadat, deputy of this department, says that the creation of such free schools along with educational facilities for orphaned children will help the Ministry of Education a lot.
Public schools are not enough here, schools similar to this one should be built to fill this void.”
It should be mentioned that the education sector of Helmand has suffered a lot of damage in the past wars, but now that security is ensured, the residents want more attention.
