Pakistan Needs 10 Billion Dollars and Five Years to Rebuild the Damages of Floods

Pakistan’s Dawn newspaper, citing Miftah Ismael, reported that this amount of money is equal to 3 percent of the country’s GDP.

According to United Nations, floods caused by heavy rains in recent weeks in Pakistan have affected 33 million citizens of this country and left more than 1000 dead.

According to Pakistani authorities, about one million residential houses have been completely or partially destroyed due to these floods.

However, these officials say that it may take 5 years to rebuild the infrastructure in the flooded areas, but severe food shortage is one of the challenges that Pakistan will face in the short term.
