Coronavirus Death Toll in Afghanistan Rise by 8

The coronavirus total infections hit 54,891 in Afghanistan after it recorded 37 more coronavirus cases over the last 24 hours.

Out of a total 1,729 suspected people contracting the novel coronavirus, 37 people tested positive for the coronavirus pandemic within the past 24 hours, said the health ministry Wednesday.

The country lost eight COVID-19 patients during the same period.

The new cases of infection were registered in Kabul, Herat, Kandahar, Nangarhar, Parwan, Baghlan, Nimroz, Maidan Wardak, Kunar, Faryab, Khost and Paktika provinces.

The new patients died from the illness pushed the total deaths to 2,398, according to ministry’s figures.

Also, 90 patients having been contracted with the COVID-19 disease have recovered over the past 24 hours, bringing the toll of coronavirus recoveries to 47,549.

Worldwide, at least 2,156,901 have died and the total infections topped 100 million since the start of an outbreak that first appeared in Wuhan, China, in early December.
