Tareq Arian, a spokesman for the Afghan Ministry of Interior Affairs (MoI), said addressing in a press conference that the armed Taliban have carried out 1,175 attacks across the country, killing at least 138 civilians and wounding another 333 over the past three weeks.
The civilian casualties either were caused by the group’s suicide attacks or roadside and sticky mine blasts. According to the data provided by the interior ministry spokesman, Taliban carried out seven suicide attacks, 218 roadside bomb attacks, and dozens more offensive attacks in the last 21 days.
Mr. Arian, however, added that at least 200 bombs placed by the armed group in different places have been defused during that period.
The insurgent group has yet to comment.
