Badghis – Taliban has suffered heavy causalities and deaths as Afghan security forces, in cooperation with coalition forces, has carried airstrikes at Balamurghab district of Northwestern Province, Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
According to statement, at least 38 Taliban militants were killed and 22 further wounded in airstrikes by Afghan security forces and Resolute Support mission in Akazay and Balamurghab district.
Taliban so far did not comment on this claim.
· 3-Day Battling Fights Rock Badghis
It comes amid a 3-day battle between the security forces and Taliban militants since Thursday, where insurgents aimed to completely gain control over Balamorghab district of Badghis province in northwest of the country.
But security officials said the area is secured and is free from risk of losing the district.
