Balkh (The Killid) – At least three armed insurgents have been killed during a special police operation at Ali Abad, Yangi Aregh, and Soreyan districts of Balkh Northern Province, local security officials confirmed. One wounded and three further nabbed by police.
Mohammad Hanif Razae, spokesman to 209th Shaheen Corps, said to the Killid the operation is carried by Afghan National Army (ANA) on Friday midnight at Chamtal district to particularly capture Qari Najmuddin, a key commander to the Taliban; but he could escape the area tagged in women’s clothing.
Razae said police have arrested at least two of his children following the arrest of his two guards.
It comes after the Taliban Insurgents carried out an attack at police security posts in Chatmal district of Balk province last week which resulted in killing and wounding at least ten of Afghan forces.
The Taliban militant, so far, did not comment on the incident.
