Rashid Khan’s five-wicket haul and Javed Ahmad’s ton put Afghanistan in the driver’s seat on the day one of their four-day ICC Intercontinental Cup clash against Hong Kong in Mong Kok on Friday. Hong Kong won the toss and chose to bat first at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground but the hosts were bowled out for just 142 in 47 overs. By the close of play, Afghanistan reached 270 for two wickets in 50 overs, with a lead of 128 runs. Dean Jones, former Australian cricket player, has been working hard to win the competition as the temporary Afghan national cricket coach.
