Security officials in Nangarhar yesterday reported the arrest of six criminals allegedly involved in different crimes. Hazrat Hussain Mashriqwal, spokesman for Nangarhar police, told Killid that police arrested three on charge of stealing 100,000 Pakistani rupees and a Corolla vehicle on the outskirts of Jalalabad. Two others were arrested on charges of forging immigration cards, and one person for carrying gun. According to Mashriqwal, investigations are underway by the provincial criminal investigation department. Meanwhile, residents of Nangarhar are sceptical about the news of the arrests. Those charged with armed activities, murder, kidnapping, armed robberies are released through meditation of influential and powerful figures, people say.
