US President Barack Obama said Tuesday that the United States cannot wipe out Taleban insurgents from Afghanistan, according to US media. Speaking at MacDill Air Force Base in Florida, Obama said, “I don’t want to paint too rosy a picture. The situation in Afghanistan is still tough. War has been a part of life in Afghanistan for over 30 years. The US cannot eliminate the Taleban or end violence in that country.” President Obama further added that thousands of US troops are in Afghanistan supporting the 320,000 Afghan security forces defending their country against Taleban and other insurgent groups. This comes as President Ashraf Ghani at the Heart of Asia Summit warned that about 30 terrorist networks are trying to establish bases in Afghanistan.
