Nai – Supporting Open Media in Afghanistan said the Pakistan media owes an apology to President Ashraf Ghani. Mujib Khelwatgar, executive director of the organisation that works locally to empower local media and promote freedom of expression was commenting on the attacks on the president in the wake of his statement at the Heart of Asia Summit in India. Ghani publicly turned down Sartaj Aziz, the Pakistan prime minister’s foreign policy adviser’s offer of 500 billion USD aid, saying, “This fund, Mr. Aziz, could very well be used for containing extremism because without peace any amount of assistance will not meet the needs of our people.”
