Taleban militants attacked the Kabul-Kandahar highway early Wednesday morning from three directions resulting in the closure of the highway. Local media quoted drivers saying the attack was at 6 am local time in Sorpal, Sherazie and Shater areas of Wardak province. The attack was confirmed by provincial council members who said insurgents converged from three directions. They said the clashes with security forces were still going on. However, security officials are yet to comment on the attack.
