At least 33 Afghan civilians were reportedly shot dead after they were kidnapped by ISIS (Daesh) in Ghor. Abdul Hai Khatibi, the governor’s spokesperson, told Killid this morning, “The civilians, most of whom were shepherds, were kidnapped from the vicinity of Firoz Koh district by ISIS.” According to him, security forces launched an operation for the release of the hostages. A so-called Daesh commander named Mullah Farooq was killed in the fighting. In retaliation, ISIS shot dead 30 abducted civilians in Ghalmin in Ghor, said Khatibi. ISIS has not claimed responsibility for the massacre. Earlier, Taleban militants executed at least 14 civilian bus passengers, including women and children, in the province.
