Pakistan tells Taleban leaders to leave or join Afghan peace process

Pakistan has warned Taleban leaders to engage in the Afghan peace process or face expulsion  from Pakistan along with their families. A Pakistani official, whose name was not disclosed, revealed that due to mounting pressure, some Taleban leaders have already left Pakistan and some are still leaving. The official added that pressurTaleban leaders was part of Pakistan’s policy together with the repatriation of more than three million documented and non-documented refugees to Afghanistan. Recently pressure has intensified on Pakistan from Afghanistan, India, the United States, and some other countries not to harbor terrorist groups such as the Haqqani Network and Taleban. Simultaneously, President Ashraf Ghani has urged Pakistan to take stern action against the Taleban and not stay neutral. Meanwhile in the latest attempt to push forward the peace process, three Taleban representatives from their office in Doha, Qatar, travelled to Pakistan. According to reports, their aim was to brief Pakistani officials.
