ACC Under-19 Asia Cup: Afghanistan Cruise into Semis

The Afghanistan under-19 cricket team reached the ACC Under-19 Asia Cup semifinals after beating the UAE by 134 runs in Malaysia yesterday.
Afghanistan played their third and final group match against the UAE. The 50-over match was reduced 20 overs a side due to rain.
The Emiratis won the toss and opted to bowl in the 50-over match at Kinrara Academy Oval, Kuala Lumpur.
The Afghans after being put into bat first off to a flying start and for just losing three wickets, they set the UAE 225 runs target, thanks to Darwaish Rasooli’s quick-fired 105.
In response the Emiratis made only 90 runs in the 20 overs for the loss of nine wickets and Afghanistan won the match by 134 runs.
Eight teams, divided into two groups, from member countries are taking part in the fourth edition of the Asia Cup that began last week.
Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and the UAE are placed in Group B, while Group A consists of India, Bangladesh, Nepal and the hosts Malaysia.
The victory earned the Afghan under-19 crew first position in the group and berth in the semifinals.
