Kandahar Dry Fruit Exports Increase

Officials of Kandahar Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI) said the quality of dry fruits was good this year, and profitable for the export market. Abdul Baqi Bina, provincial ACCI deputy, said some 3.8 million USD was earned from export. This is a 41 percent increase over previous years. India is the biggest market, importing most of the dry fruit from Afghanistan. UAE, Kazakhstan and some other countries are comparatively smaller buyers. The export of fresh fruits from Kandahar is also at its peak, especially pomegranates that are famous worldwide.
