Local officials in Maidan Wardak province said that two Taliban group commanders named Qari Najibullah and Maulavi Waris were killed and eight others were arrested in an Afghan security forces’ operation in Sayed Abad district.
Naqib Amini, spokesman for Maidan Wardak police, said that the operation was launched by Afghan forces to clear the areas of insurgents.
He added that a vehicle of security forces was also destroyed in a mine explosion.
Taliban militants are yet to comment.
