Atmar Meets Uzbekistan Foreign Economic Minister

Afghan National Security Advisor Mohammad Hanif Atmar and Presidential Advisor on Economic Affairs Dr. Humayun Qayomi met with Uzbekistan Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade Minister Elyor Ganiev yesterday in Tashkent, capital of Uzbekistan. A press release from National Security Council (NSC) stated that both sides discussed expansion of bilateral economic cooperation and implementation of the agreements. The statement quoting Ganiev stated that business affairs between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan must be speeded up. The two sides also agreed on drafting a memorandum of understanding on cooperation and the document was expected to be signed by the presidents of the two countries in the near future, the statement said.
