Paktika School Enrolment is 20,000 Students This Year

Officials at Paktika Education Department said that 20,000 new students enrolled for this year’s school year in the province- which is an unprecedented increase. Mohammad Nasim Wajid, acting head of Paktika education department, told Killid that 12,000 of the new students are boys and 8,000 are girls. He added that this year they have reopened 13 closed schools across the province in cooperation with tribal elders, civil society activists, and youths. He further stated that all schools in Dela Khoshamand district are closed but asserted that efforts are underway to reopen the schools. According to the figures by provincial education department, 173,000 students are enrolled at 357 schools in Paktika.
