The opening ceremony for the 2020 Shpageeza Cricket League was held tonight at Kabul Cricket Stadium. It was also attended by the President of Afghanistan, First V.P Mr. and some other top government officials, Afghanistan Cricket Board announced.
All the matches of the tournament will be played at the Kabul International Cricket Stadium, with the first match that will be played between Band-e-Amir Dragons vs Mis Ainak Knights.
Earlier, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) announced on July 18 that the 7th edition of Shpageeza Cricket League, which is an annual domestic T20 cricket tournament, was going to kick off in September, at the Kabul Cricket Stadium.
The season will run for a period of two weeks, with the final match taking place on 16th of September 2020.
The league consists of 6 teams and includes 15 league matches, followed by two Qualifiers, the eliminator and the final.
So far, the country’s cricket board has successfully hosted 6 seasons of the Shpageeza Cricket League since 2014.
