(TKG) ─ According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Defense on Monday [January 27, 2020], the ministry is investigating the casualties left to civilians during nightly operations in Balkh.
According to the statement, the ministry has sent a delegation to the province to seriously investigate the incident.
The statement further added that serious action would be taken if anyone was involved in the incident.
The statement comes after seven members of a family were killed yesterday in an airstrike against the Taliban in Boki village of Balkh district of the province.
Residents of the province held a rally yesterday during which they left bodies of civilians on the street, claiming that they were killed in an airstrike by security forces.
In the meantime, the ministry claimed that during the aforementioned operations, Afghan forces have killed at least six Taliban militants.
