In a letter from the Ministry of Economy, it is stated that this decision was taken due to the non-observance of the Islamic hijab and other regulations related to it.

The Ministry of Economy has warned that in case of delay in implementing this decision, the activity license of the offending institutions will be revoked.

Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken called this decision devastating for the people of Afghanistan and said that banning women from delivering humanitarian aid will disrupt aid to millions of people.

Ramez Al-Akbarov, the Deputy Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Afghanistan, also said that the prohibition of women from work is worrisome and women play an essential role in all areas of life.

On the other hand, Norway’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Aniken Hoitfeld asked the Islamic Emirate to reconsider this matter.

This is despite the fact that during the past one and a half years, female employees in government offices have not been allowed to physically attend their offices.
