The US State Department has condemned Monday’s attack on a hotel in Kabul and calls on the Islamic Emirate to fulfill its commitments towards the international community and the people of Afghanistan.

The US Reaction to the Attack on a Hotel in Kabul

Ned Price, the US State Department Spokesperson, said in a press conference that the Islamic Emirate must prevent terrorist violence in Afghanistan.

He added that the people of Afghanistan, have been experiencing violence at various levels for a long time.

Meanwhile, referring to the recent trips of Tom West and Rina Amiri, Price said that they asked the international community to continue their efforts to return girls and women to schools and jobs.

Ned Price emphasized that the education and employment of Afghan girls and women are essential for the security, stability, and prosperity of Afghanistan.

It should be noted that Tom West, the US special representative for Afghanistan, during his recent trip to Japan, India, and the United Arab Emirates, met with a number of Afghan politicians, including Hamid Karzai, the former president, and Abdullah Abdullah, the head of the Supreme National Reconciliation Council in the previous government.

According to the spokesperson of the US Department of State, during this trip, Tom West also met with Ataa Mohammad Noor, a member of Jamiat-e-Islami and the governor of Balkh in the previous government.
