A number of residents of Nimroz province have expressed their satisfaction with the resumption of orphanages in this province and want charitable organizations to take care of homeless children.

With the change in the political system in the country, many institutions and service centers stopped working. One of these centers is considered to be a children’s orphanage, which recently started operating again in Nimroz province.

11-year-old Omid is from Kabul and now lives in Nimroz orphanage. He says that the police separated him and his brother from their mother and transferred them to an orphanage.

“My brother and I are living here. We study together and we want to build our future.”

At the same time, Edris, a child who lost his mother in Nimroz province and is currently living in an orphanage, expresses his opinion as follows: “My mother and I lost our money, and after we became very needy, we became addicted to drugs.”The police brought me to the orphanage and I don’t know about my mother. It’s better for me to be here because I can study.”

On the other hand, some residents of Nimroz province want to take care of children in orphanages.

Mortaza Karimi, one of the residents of Nimroz Province, says that in the previous government, attention was paid to orphanages, but now these service centers have been forgotten.

“The prosperity of the Islamic Emirates reduced the attention to orphanages, but fortunately, it has been a few months since the orphanages have been activated again.”

This resident of Nimroz asks the Islamic Emirate and other national businessmen to pay more attention to orphanages.

A number of social activists say that Afghanistan is currently facing many problems and crises that have had an adverse effect on the lives of children, especially orphans.

Saeed Sadat, one of the social activists, says: “Poverty and unemployment have caused many children to be left on the streets with no fate and no care. They do hard work to survive.”

According to social activists, many children were kept in orphanages during the previous government, but after the political changes, they faced misfortune and thus the number of children on the street increased.

However, Maulavi Fazel Ahmad Shirzadah, the head of labor and social affairs in Nimroz Province, says that after the victory of the Islamic Emirates, the authorities were able to restart the orphanages.

“The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has created a commission for raising orphaned children. Currently, we can cover about 40 orphaned children in the orphanage.”

According to him, this commission, in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Health, Education, and other relevant bodies, has conducted a survey on children and then introduces the orphaned children to the orphanage.

He added that there are educational and professional programs for children and so far 18 children have been introduced to the orphanage.

At the same time, he asks the international community and capitalists to provide financial support to orphaned children in Nimroz province.

In Afghanistan, the problems of orphaned children have not been solved for years, but recently their number has increased in Nimroz and these children are facing many problems.
