The Red Crescent Called for International Community’s Cooperation to Deal with Beggars

The Beggars Collection Committee has collected more than 15,800 beggars from various parts of Kabul until the 5th of November this year, and about 6,000 of them have been identified as deserving of help and the rest as professionals.

Mati Al-Haq Khales, in the ceremony of honoring the heads, commanders, and business partners of the Red Crescent, said that this department distributes millions of Afghanis to about 2,500 deserving beggars every month and plans to expand this program to other provinces as well.

He added that the Red Crescent is unable to provide lasting help to beggars, therefore the international community should cooperate with this agency.

The process of collecting beggars in the city of Kabul, based on the decree of the leader of the Islamic Emirate and the decision of the cabinet, began in the month of August this year.
