Antonio Guterres, in his speech at this summit, emphasized the reopening of schools for girls above the sixth grade in Afghanistan and said that girls’ education is one of the most important steps to create peace, security, and sustainable development.
Meanwhile, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) said that the future of these girls is in danger, referring to the closure of secondary and high schools for girls in Afghanistan.
Audrey Azoulay, the head of this organization, called for the reopening of schools for girls above the sixth grade in Afghanistan at the Education Transformation Summit.
It should be noted that schools for girls above the sixth grade in Afghanistan have been closed for about a year.
