The nationwide tally of infections has reached 166,924 since the start of the pandemic, figures by the country’s health ministry showed.

The country reported eight related deaths in the last 24-hour period, taking the overall tally to 7,442 fatalities.

The 103 patients recuperated from the disease in last 24 hours.

With COVID-19 infections on rise, officials ask residents to follow health measures.

The COVID-19 pandemic has killed 5,737,372 million people worldwide since it began in December 2019.

The World Health Organization says the actual toll could be two to three times higher.
