Afghanistan U-19s were initially scheduled to open their campaign against Zimbabwe on January 16 but the fixture had been pushed to January 22.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) said last week the schedule for the 2022 U-19 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup had been updated after the delayed arrival of Afghanistan into the Caribbean.
With the new changes in the schedule, Afghanistan U-19s will now face Papua New Guinea, Pakistan and Zimbabwe in the group stage.
There were doubts before Afghanistan could manage it to participate in the 16-team tournament due to visa glitches.
As a result, Afghanistan’s two warm-up games against England on January 10 and UAE on January 12 were cancelled.
Afghanistan’s games are scheduled as below:
January 18 – Afghanistan v PNG — Diego Martin Sporting Complex.
January 20 – Pakistan v Afghanistan — Brian Lara Cricket Ground.
January 22 – Afghanistan v Zimbabwe — Diego Martin Sporting Complex.
