With the new changes in the schedule, Afghanistan U-19s will face Papua New Guinea, Pakistan and Zimbabwe in the group stage.
“After successfully obtaining the necessary visas for travel, Afghanistan will arrive in the West Indies and undergo their required quarantine period,” the ICC said in a statement on Wednesday.
Earlier in the week, there were doubts over Afghanistan’s participation in the 16-team tournament due to visa glitches.
As a result, Afghanistan’s two warm-up games against England on January 10 and UAE on January 12 were cancelled.
Afghanistan U-19s were initially scheduled to open their campaign against Zimbabwe on January 16 but the fixture has now been pushed to January 22.
Four out of six matches in the group C are rescheduled as follows:
January 15 – Zimbabwe v PNG — Queens Park Oval. Rescheduled from January 20.
January 17 – Pakistan v Zimbabwe — Diego Martin Sporting Complex. Rescheduled from January 22.
January 18 – Afghanistan v PNG — Diego Martin Sporting Complex. Unchanged.
January 20 – Pakistan v Afghanistan — Brian Lara Cricket Ground. Unchanged.
January 22 – Pakistan v PNG — Queens Park Oval. Rescheduled from January 15
January 22 – Afghanistan v Zimbabwe — Diego Martin Sporting Complex. Rescheduled from January 16.
