Afghanistan Reports 12 New COVID-19 Cases

Afghanistan reported 12 new COVID-19 cases and one related death in the last 24 hours, according to government data released Tuesday.

The nationwide tally of infections has reached 157,660 million since the start of the pandemic, figures by the country’s health ministry showed. 

The country reported one death in the last 24-hour period, taking the overall tally to 7,329 fatalities. 

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 142,020 after 736 patients got better in the last 24 hours. 

Although COVID-19 infections has been at the lowest, officials ask residents to follow health measures.

Worldwide, more than 270.6 million people have been infected by the coronavirus, according to a NYT’s tally published on December 12.

The number of global deaths hit 5,309,959.
