According to a statement released by the Attorney General’s Office (AGO), two of its prosecutors, Toofan Omari and Sayed Kazim, were killed Sunday as gunmen attacked on them in Deh Sabz, northeast of Kabul province.
The office of Afghanistan’s Attorney General condemned the assassination, calling it crime against humanity.
Toofan Omari was responsible for Paktia Ghag (Voice of Paktia)’s broadcasts too.
Afghan media watchdog, NAI, has called on the government to conduct a meaningful investigation into the matter and hold perpetrators to account.
No armed group or individual has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Targeted attacks, often unclaimed, have resumed to soar in recent weeks.
